The Guy

My name's Brendon. I grew up loving music. In 1983 my parents moved to Austin, TX and I got to be a "Club Kid". Everything was all ages in Austin back then. So... If you could get to the clubs, you were in. I went down the rabbit hole of the Austin music scene and it led me to completely abandon the idea of "Genre". Punk, Metal, Funk, Americana, Singer Song Writer stuff, Whatever... I was 17 years old and loving all of it. Obviously... I got the bug.

Due to various circumstances I moved to a little town outside of Rochester, New York when I was 18 for about 6 or 7 months. That's where I got into my first band. We were terrible but this experience gave me the confidence to get on stage which was all I really needed at that point. Once I got back to Austin, I auditioned for any band that would let me.

At age 19 I had not yet found a band project that would stick but I was still exploring every option. Through my job, I met a person who was producing Multi-Projector slide shows for trade shows. I got invited to a recording session for one of those slide shows and I discovered my second passion. From then on, I was still all about playing music but I kept a vigilant eye on emerging recording processes and technology. I knew that once I did find a band project that was worth doing, that band would need to make a recording. I wanted to be the guy to do it.

Fast Forward several years: I did eventually make my way into the Austin musician ecosystem. I played with a bunch of great bands and I got to see the world. The thing I'm most grateful for is that I got to play with some of the people that initially inspired me. It's amazing, really. I could go on and on about it. But...

Getting back to the recording thing: In the early days of my recording fascination (The 90's), building a studio was not affordable. Piece by piece, I accumulated recording gear over the years. And... As time went on, this got easier and easier. A "Hobbyist" or "Pro-Sumer" digital recording landscape emerged. I kept gigging, biding my time, knowing that someday I would have a studio.

It took a long time but that's where we are today. I love using this space to bring musical ideas to life. At this point, this is my natural habitat.
